What you'll learn

WingTsun for adults makes no compromise on effectiveness. You'll learn to neutralize an attacker in seconds, handle multiple attackers, use your environment (walls, floor, urban furniture) to your advantage. Some join out of martial curiosity, some to build confidence, some because the streets are changing. All leave with the same thing: the certainty that what they learned actually works. The EWTO program is mapped across 12 student levels then 12 technician levels: there's always a next step, with no ceiling and no grade-chasing.

  1. 01

    The 5 fighting distances

Kicks, fists, elbows, knees, ground. You'll know what to do at each distance, without panic.

  2. 02

    Timing and sensitivity

Chi Sao (sticky hands), the signature drill that develops tactile perception, letting you react before even seeing the attack.

  3. 03

    Structure and rooting

How to hold ground against a 2× heavier opponent, relying on geometry and biomechanics rather than strength.

  4. 04

    Stress management

Pressure drills, assault simulations, breath control. So your skills hold when adrenaline kicks in.

Frequent questions

Answers to questions we hear most often.

On the contrary. Most of our students start WingTsun as adults with no prior experience. The EWTO program is built precisely for this: a structured progression from beginner to expert, with no prerequisite.

No. WingTsun isn't an athletic art: no acrobatic kicks, no violent impacts, no weight categories. You progress at your own pace. Many of our students started after 10 years of being sedentary.

These are three transcriptions of the same Chinese name (詠春). WingTsun (with capital T) specifically refers to Leung Ting's lineage, Yip Man's direct heir, and the system structured by EWTO. That's what we teach.

Kids from 6, Teens from 12, Adults from 16. Every program is pedagogically tailored to age. For the youngest, the focus is on confidence, motor skills and respect, more than pure self-defense.

First useful reflexes appear within 3 to 6 months of regular practice. Real autonomy settles in between 1 and 2 years. What the body absorbs through repetition becomes a true reflex: instantly available the day you actually need it, and yours for life.

Absolutely not. WingTsun was historically developed by and for women (legend traces the system back to nun Ng Mui). Our adult class is mixed and the teaching takes into account differences in build and the situations women encounter more often. About a third of our adult students are women.

Better than that: your first trial class is free and you actively participate. It's the only way to know if the atmosphere and teaching suit you.

Our main venue is Marziano Dojang, Rue Eugène-Marziano 7, 1227 Geneva (Acacias district). The Vernets swimming-pool car park is a 3-minute walk away. Tram lines 15 and 17 have a stop less than 50 metres from the venue. Some teen and kids classes are held instead at the Centre Sportif de Cologny (Salle Passing — accès terrasse), Chemin de la Tulette 8, 1223 Cologny. On-site parking is available. It is free for 2 hours.
